[opensuse-kde] KDE 4.6.0 many apps not shown in system tray
Hi there, I just upgraded to KDE 4.6.0 from the KDE repo. I see the system tray has changed a lot. I cannot see many apps any longer, e.g. kmix, kopete, klipper. None of them is shown in the system tray. How can I get those icons back? I see, kmix is running, but not shown in the system tray. How to get the icons back? back? Probably still there.. just hiding.
Try this:
Click the little triangle to the right of the existing systray icons...
You can adjust what icons are shown or hidden and when by right
clicking on the systray and selecting System Tray Settings.

I cannot chose anything there, because it is not offered there... no kmix, no klipper to chose, only battery, notifications and stuff. No kmix or anything else there.... Are you able to see the triangle? Did you click it? Did it pop up a small mini window with the hidden icons? Did you right click on the systray and select > System Tray Settings > Entries? Or did you only stay on the Display section? C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Yes, I went to "entries" and there is onle few entries like padevchooser, the Pulse audio applet. But, no kmix, no kgpg. Interesting: entries lists some things like the HP toolbox icon, but no KDE native stuff like kmix, kgpg or klipper.... So what happens if you (kill and) start kmix etc? Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Didn't help either. But, I have logged of and logged in again and now the icons are back! Malte -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Ha! I logged off and logged in again and now the icons are back! I can see now the kmix icon and the Kopete icon and that triangle you mentioned. I couldn't see it before, now it is there. The triangle holds those icons that have no space left in the sys tray, right? In earlier KDE versions you could just expand the sys tray. You have finer grained control now... just set it how you prefer in teh Systray options under the Entries section. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org

Yes, indeed and after the restart there are now all apps appearing in the entries sector! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
