[opensuse-kde] KDE 4.12 and Tumbleweed
Hi all, I just got a request today on the Factory mailing list asking about KDE 4.12 and Tumblweed. Is 4.12 in any shape to consider adding it to Tumbleweed at this point in time, or should I wait for a specific future release to come out before adding it? Any suggestions and help with this would be most appreciated as I don't personally use KDE, so my ability to test and even know when things are ready to be added are quite minimal. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Greg, I don't think you'd run into any issues spinning it up for Tumbleweed. It's been running fine for me, under multiple configurations.

Hi Greg, The repository for 4.12 is KDE:Release;412 and things seems to be running fine. However I would advice to wait a couple of days as that the Repo at this moment contains the unreleased 4.12.1 version. Expectation is that this will be released in the next few days and then it would be good to copy it. The KDE:Release:412 repo has been setup in such a way that it only offers the KDE SC packages, so it should be save just to copy all packages in that repo. There shouldn't be any build issues for 13.1 Regards Raymond -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks everyone for the support saying it "should" work :) Now, for specifics, I'll wait for 4.12.1 is out before making this "final" in Tumbleweed, but I might as well start getting this building in openSUSE:Tumbleweed:Testing to knock out the packaging issues on my side. So, to be specific, here's what I have done in the past to get KDE updates into Tumbleweed, is this still valid for 4.12? Link the following packages to libqt4: libqt4-sql-plugins libqt4-devel-doc Link the following packages to soprano: soprano-backend-sesame soprano-backend-virtuoso Base the packages in Tumbleweed on these repos:packages: KDE:Release:412/* KDE:Qt/Botan KDE:Qt/libqt4 KDE:Qt/libqca2 KDE:Qt/libqjson KDE:Qt/libdbusmenu-qt KDE:Qt/python-qscintilla KDE:Qt/python-qt4 KDE:Qt/python-sip KDE:Qt/qscintilla KDE:Qt/qt-creator KDE:Qt/libQtWebKit4 KDE:Qt/qt4-qtscript Does this look correct? If so, I'll go try this out in :Testing and see how well it works... thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org

When you have :Testing ready for testing ( :^) ), announce here and I will add the repo and install/test. tks, -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
