libkcm_konq.la...exists but not found
Hi I have trawled through the list archives looking for a solution to this problem and have found several suggestions but unfortunately none that fix the problem on my system. The following error appears when I attempt to open a Kontrol Center module This example comes form trying to open the Desktop module under "Look and Feel" in the Control center) "There was an error loading the module : Details: The diagnostics is: Library Files for "libkcm_konq.la" not found in paths. Possible reasons: * an error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving orphaned control module * you have old third party modules lying around" Going through the different modules in the kontrol center I get reports that the following files are missing: libkcm_.la libkcm_.la libkcm_.la libkcm_.la libkcm_.la
D'OH! - sorry clumsy fingers ctl-enter instead of ctl-v, enter... Back to the scheduled program .... Files reported as missing by various control center modules are: libkcm_socks.la libkcm_newsticker.la libkcm_lanbrowser.la libkcm_konq.la libkcm_kamera.la libkcm_midi.la libkcm_kcmkxmirpcd.la libkcm_konqhtml.la libkcm_nsplugin.la I have checked, and can't find these files anywhere. I have reinstalled the rpms loaded from ftp.suse.com (all contents of base, apps, and the German/english version from the i18n directory) Apart from these "missing files" preventing control center modules from opening, kde 3.1 runs fine. Is there a path var that I need to set so that it can find these files? (if they are actually anywhere to be found) or are they actually missing from the packages? Thanks and sorry for the false start ... Rich
