Quanta 3.2 sluggish when editing large scripts
Hi all, I have just upgraded KDE & Quanta to versions 3.2 & find editing large scripts with a lot of code (500+ lines of code), the editing window becomes very sluggish and takes time to respond. After typing a line of 15-20 characters, I have to wait a few seconds or longer for the editing window to catch up before I can do anything else. Can anyone help? Oh, Quanta 3.1 editing window works perfectly but the project files do not display when running under KDE 3.2. Jasmine, This is a known bug in Quanta (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63000). It seems to be fixed. You can get the source from cvs. More details which module etc. are in the bug report. Cheers, Sabine
Thanks to all who helped, I downloaded the latest CSV version (Quanta 3.3 BE) & installed that, now it all works perfectly. Oh, great upgrade from Quanta 3.2! Jasmine On Mon, 16 Feb 2004 05:47 pm, Jasmine Davis wrote:

Jasmine, Where did you get 3.3? I only found 3.2 BE-1 (On the Quanta website that is). Cheers, -- Sabine
I downloaded it from CSV, and also, the project name has changed from Quanta to Kdewebdev. See the CSV link below. cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@anoncvs.kde.org:/home/kde co kdewebdev This is the first time I have installed anything from CSV source, so I had to install a few KDE & other *-develop patches to get it to compile. Plus the name of the executable is not "quanta" but quanta_be". Regards, Jasmine On Fri, 20 Feb 2004 02:29 am, Sabine wrote:

I'm using it now since a couple of hours - very sweet. It's so much faster all over - amazing. Thanks for the link! Cheers, -- Sabine
