The mouse finger-pointer in KDE (3.5x) is ugly and annoying to use. (You know, the pointer you get when the normal arrow-pointer of the mouse is moved over, say, a URL link?) The finger is just too damn long! It just does not represent an average, normal human hand. It was quite nice in earlier versions of KDE. This finger pointer I suspect is simply a graphic file which is called at the appropriate time. If so, then this graphic would be editable ( via Gimp probably). Does anyone know, please, the name of this file containing this finger-pointer? (Or is this graphic actually hard-coded into some KDE module?) Cheers. -- "Every burned book enlightens the world." Synchronizing Kmail between two or more computers?

I would like to synchronize my local mail between two or maybe three computers. Basic idea would be to use rsync, maybe unison or even subversion, to upload local changes to an ssh server. kded eats 100% of the CPU on first wallet access

Hi, I've just upgraded my SUSE Linux from 9.3 to 10.1 x86_64, and have also updated KDE to 3.5.4, including kdelibs3 3.5.4-88.1. On logging in, the first time konqueror wants to open a KDE Wallet, a dialog box pops up asking for the wallet to be opened. Immediately after this, kded takes up all available CPU, possibly in an infinite busy loop. This looks like this bug (again ?!) http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64671 The fix to bug 64671 was in qt, so I tried downgrading qt3 from 3.3.6 to 3.3.5-58.3. This made no difference. The workaround is to kill kded, but then kwallet does not work. Should I file a bug on Novell bugzilla? Best, Paul Leopardi

Font problem after new fonts installed

After installing a number of new fonts, I am now having problems with the fonts selected by GTK apps, Firefox, and also in Konqueror when I browse some sites (like the Novell site). The font rendered is one of the ones I installed, not any of the fonts from the font chooser dialog. I have tried reapplying the theme, setting various fonts manually, etc. to no avail. I lost "knotes" completely - the program was not on my disk anymore. I had to revert back to "kdepim3-3.5.4-20.3.i586.rpm" to get "knotes" back. I used this site to download my KDE updates: http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_9.3/i586/ regards Ian

Konqueror Hijacked?

Hi, I'm using SuSE 10.1 with KDE, and Konqueror, 3.5.1 and when I try to acesse www.amazon.com i?m hijecked to "http://ad.doubleclick.net/adi/amazon.pilot/;type=inv_pixel;sz=1x1;ord=705?". When I use Firefox, that doesn't happen. Is this my first virus ? Regards Lívio Cipriano
