"Quicklaunch" icon size

Hi all, I have two questions. Somewhere in a linux magazine (can't remember which, unfortunately) I saw a KDE 3.x screenshot that looked as follows. Kicker size was roughly "large," but in the default layout, the icons between the k-menu icon and the desktop pager was only half size, sort of the size they would be if kicker size was set to "small," and there were two rows, one above the other. I cannot remember if the k-menu icon was smaller too, I would imagine so. Anyone know how I can do this? Also, I have six virtual desktops. The desktop pager shows me two rows of three desktops. If I want to change this to, say, nine desktops, is there a way to get the pager to show three rows of three? Thanks! Hans

Addressbook not available in Control Center

In the Kontact Handbook, it says that I can configure address ressources in choosing "Control Center -> KDE Components -> Addressbook". But in KDE Components, I can't find any "Addressbook"?? Laurent -- Linux is like an indian tent: no Windows, no Gates and an Apache inside

Upgrading to 3.2.3 with YaST

I've seen the rpms to update KDE 3.2.2 for SuSE 9.1 to KDE 3.2.3, but I was wondering if there is a way to do it using YaST's System Update tool, like I did to upgrade to 3.2.2. I have the /pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/Update_for_9.1/yast-source from one of the mirrors set up as an installation source, but System Update can't seem to find anything new to install. Konqueror browser and Javascript

Hi folks! Am having problems putting Javascript bookmarklets on my Konqueror 3.1.4 toolbar. Has anyone succeeded in doing so? Feel free to try out these examples. Example 1: www.hyperlinkomatic.com This site lets you combine your myriad bookmark lists in one easily accessible location, and then lets you add new bookmarks by way of a Javascript "Grabber" tool. Unfortunately, when trying to drag/drop the tool to the toolbar, Konqi won't let me drop it. I also tried adding the script to the toolbar via Edit Bookmarks; I could add the bookmark, but clicking it produced a 'Protocol not supported: javascript' error message. Example 2: www.bloglines.com This web-based RSS newsfeed aggregator gives Konqi all kinds of grief. Displaying feeds results in "A script on this page is causing KTHML to freeze....' with a request to abort. (This is an improvement over earlier versions, where Konqi just died) Trying to add the 'Easy Subscribe' to a newsfeed script runs into the same problem as above (can't drop). ROOT: Konqueror problem

Hi there! I have a problem with Konqueror (File Browser) when logged in as root: when I click on an directory Icon to enter that directory, I get the error message: "There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueror with inode/directoy, but it can't handle this file type." But filling in the directory path in the adress bar does not give any error?? At the same time, when I access the "/" directory by filling in the adress bar, Konqueror locks up fir about 15 secs before showing the content. Is it a bug or an installation error or a configuration error? Using Konqueror as user, there is no problem at all.... Konqueror & KHTML problem

This is my first message to mailing list... so if i did something wrong, let me know :) I messed with the file associations configuration and now when I try to open a web page in Konqueror as root I get the following message: /"There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated Konqueror with text/html, but it can't handle this file type." /I've checked the text/html embedded settings and have noticed that KHTML is missing. I tried to add it but it's not there?!?! It's gone. I have searched the google and numerous forums but did not find a solution. This only happens @root. Other users have KHTML in embedding tag and Konqueror works fine. @root it's missing and i can't add it because it's not listed in KDE Control Module. picture <http://freeweb.siol.net/bhriber4/khtml.jpg> Any ideas?

How to get smaller icons on KMenu

This is probably a silly question with an easy answer, but I cannot find the setting that shrinks the size of the icons is the Kmenu. I can change the size of the kicker icons, as well as desktop, title bar, etc through the control panel, but I can't figure out how to shrink the ones in the Kmenu.

Konqueror file manager refresh
