Konqueror and cookies

Hi everybody, Although I have set the option "accept all" under the cookies settings menu, Yahoo Groups insist on saying that I can't see the page because my Browser don't accept their cookies (code 0). Can anybody help me in fixing up the trouble?. Konqueror is version 2.1.1 and Suse 7.2. Thanks, Toni

Hi Everyone, I have SuSE 8 on my home computer, recently through YaST upgraded KDE from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2. After the upgrade I noticed from any KDE app. that >Help >(kdeapp)Handbook does not launch the help center. I have rebuilt the Help file from the main Help from the menu. I have notified SuSE about this minor bug, just wondered if anyone else can confirm this and if they have seen a fix in their travels. problem with starting kde3 on SuSE8

Hello, I recently installed SuSE8.0 on on of our PC's. I have to use XFree3.3.6 as XFree4 does not work with our graphic card (ELSA Glloria XL). The X Server seems to work, but when I try to start kde (via startx) the kde init screen appears but after some time it crashes. refreshing icon on kpanel link - need help

Hi everybody, sorry if my question is trivial, but I think that only those who have some experience in development might be able to help me, if what I wish for is feaseble. I have created a link in the KDE 3.0 (SuSE 8.0) Panel, near the clock, and I have associated an icon with it. If I replace the name of the icon in the file of reference - in this case "Icon=gnome-xterm" - with "Icon=gnome-term", the new icon appears only after I open the link "preferences" manually and press OK. Now, my question is: is there a command I can introduce in the my script to refresh the link without a manual operation? In other words, the link to the application is an icon, but the icon I refer to is its graphic representation. Basically, this link to the application does not launch anything and I would like to use it just as a visual signal by changing its graphics so that I specifically know when the my pptp connection is active. The connection script changes reference on opening and closing - and no problem so far -, but the image of the icon does not update by itself not even with the desktop refresh . If I do the same thing with a link on the sul desktop by erasing the link and copying it again it does work, but it would useful that to happen on the Kpanel bar since it would be visible also by using a maximized console. kde3.2-rpm installed and now?

I have just installed (almost) all the kde3 rpms provided by Suse. My question is: and now, what do I do to launch kde3 instead of kd2? Btw, kbear (provided with Suse 7.2) doesn't function anymore, have you a hint? Thanks for any reply. -- Y. Henel

Can't do kdesu konqueror anymore

I installed Rational Rose for Linux and found that Rational Rose was stall as crappy of a product as it was 2 years ago so I uninstalled at the same evening. Then I cleard out if /tmp folder. Afterwards, I cannot do kdesu konqueror anymore. I typed in my password but nothing happens. If I change the property of the shortcut that start konqueror file manager in root mode, it still does not work. clicking on the icon asks for the password but the thing dies with no window ever popping up. The only way to run the file manager is to log out and login as root into KDE. Can anyone please help. KDE 3.0.2, SuSE 8.0 Pro Salman

Mozilla and adress lists

Hi All, I am using Mozilla 1.0 on a SuSE Linux 7.3 with KDE 2.2.2 on a notebook, as I find it more convenient, than KMail with it's features for the adressbook. However, I experienced 2 problems with the adress functionality: 1. Even though I can connect to the LDAP directory, Mozilla does not let me download the adressbook for offline use. I found the funktion and it does something, but it is not available in offline work. 2. Private adress lists are available only during the session , that they were created in. As soon as I am offline, the list name still exists, but no content. I have paged through all functions and help files, but could not find any clue. As I am coming from Outlook, I am used to search in "the last corner" of the application. :-)) And I am of course looking for the same convenience (deducting the prefence setting from that!). Does anybody have a recommendation for that? Illegible fonts in Konq, Mixmaster and KMail

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 . Konq is now refusing to respect my font choices. It's decided that I should have an illegible one for the body of web pages. I can't delete that font, as KDE has (somehow) assigned that look to 90% of all installed fonts, no matter what they actually look like. (Suse7.3 K2.2.2) Changing to a font that's legible in the dialog results in no change to the body. I've tried all permutations of Settings|Konq|Appearance and nothing gives me legible text while browsing. (Had an identical problem recently with KMail, and found that Courier10 does work -- not so with Konq) I cannot read webpages now. This happened when I installed a new font using KControl. :( I'm falling apart people... Mozilla is legible (Courier) but 1.0 is fairly unstable. I use Konq 95% of the time (not for Anonymizer, as Custom settings broken with Konq) and it's now not readable at all. While I'm at it, KMail has been fine for me otherwise, but I need a GUI mail client that's compatible with Mixm4ster or Cyph3rpunk, as well as PGP. Can anyone advise? ktalkd missng

It looks like the KDE ktalkd daemon is missing in the KDE 3.0.2 kdenetwork rpm updates for SuSE linux. Please, someone in SuSE add a rpm for ktalkd 3.0.2. BAUCHE.
