Fusion-Icon (Compiz Fusion Icon) in KDE3 repo SegFaults
All, Just tried the Fusion-Icon to mess with compiz a bit. It was working on 15.0, but needed help with some of the various features, but on 15.4, it won't start at all resulting in: $ fusion-icon * Using the Qt4 Interface * No module named PyQt4 ... Trying another interface * Using the Qt3 Interface Segmentation fault (core dumped) Any idea where to start here? Open a bug? I'll see if I can start compiz manually with compiz --replace to switch from kwin to compiz, but fusion-icon is the convenient way to do it as well as switch back and forth between the window decorators. -- David C. Worse than I thought, The entire compiz and fusion-icon in the kde3 repo is hosed. Likely due to python2/3 mixing and Qt3/4 mixing. fusion-icon segfaults as mentioned above, and attempting a manual start of compiz breaks the desktop and then crashes necessitating a switch to terminal to kill the current desktop and restart. I'm no python programmer, but that seems to be a large part of the problem. Otherwise, I would expect gcc to catch an library or Qt toolkit issues. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
