[heroes] gitlab.o.o and freeipa.infra.o.o behind openvpn

Hello, I'd like to inform everybody that I moved the following two services behind the new openvpn: - gitlab.opensuse.org: both https and ssh are fully functional for the openvpn clients. It is not available publicly any more as it used to be. There is also a gitlab.infra.opensuse.org domain, which properly redirects to gitlab.opensuse.org - freeipa.infra.opensuse.org: https is fully functional for the openvpn clients, haven't tested its CLI yet. [heroes] New host: status2.opensuse.org

Hi As the maintenance window tomorrow might result in some outages for all openSUSE services in Nuremberg, I decided at short notice to setup an additional machine for status.opensuse.org on the cluster in Provo. The new machine "status2.opensuse.org" is already up and running, the DB is cloned. I'm currently waiting to get the ports opened in the firewall. After that, we should be able to switch the DNS alias status.opensuse.org from status1 to status2 - and should be done. I just tested very roughly (as it's not so easy to test without network ;-) - and did no "redundant" setup (sync between the two nodes) - so please inform me personally if you are doing changes on the new status2 host, as I need to sync them manually for now. Hi Doug, here's the draft for the news.o.o article about updating and moving the english wiki. While writing it, I noticed that it doesn't make too much sense to split it into two articles, so Theo and I changed the plan and think it's better to publish the text below before the update (to announce the read-only time/downtime) and update it when the move is done. (Hopefully with the text "Update: The english openSUSE wiki has been moved and updated successfully. If you encounter any issue, please let us know by mail to admin(a)opensuse.org.") Feel free to adjust the text as needed. If you have questions and/or want me to review the draft on news.o.o, send me a mail or catch me on IRC. Otherwise just publish it on monday ;-) If you are looking for a nice picture for the article - what about the Heroes logo from https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Heroes ? ;-) And now, finally, the article: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- English openSUSE wiki will be updated and moved home ‎On Tuesday 2017-07-11 from 15:30 UTC till 18:30 UTC, the MediaWiki instance hosted behind en.opensuse.org will be set to read only, with slight possible downtimes. Reason is the move of the wiki from the old Provo cluster to the new Nuremberg opensuse network. Together with the move, the wiki will get an update from MediaWiki 1.22 to 1.27, and the VM hosting it from an old SLE version to openSUSE Leap 42.3 (yes, we are eating our own dogfood!) ‎ New features are: - including files directly from github -> https://en.opensuse.org/Help:GitHub_inclusion - namespace-specific boilerplates (page templates) when creating new pages -> https://en.opensuse.org/Help:MultiBoilerplate - better search (elasticsearch) - now searching all namespaces, but with different weight - login is now done using the Auth_remoteuser extension - but still with your openSUSE login - support for several map providers - switched extension for RSS feed integration (this needs adjustments on the pages that include RSS feeds) -> https://en.opensuse.org/Help:RSS_feeds - watching a category (when pages get added to or removed from it) is now part of MediaWiki core - removal of Hermes notifications - MediaWiki's own notifications work much better Please be patient while we are doing the update. [heroes] URGENT: login2.o.o broken - and still no SSH access to the wiki VMs

Hello, it looks like someone broke login2.o.o - it always gives me [1] The username/password combination you entered is invalid. Please try again, or recover it from here. (THIS IS DAFFY). This affects en-test.o.o, progress, and maybe more services using it. It will also affect en.o.o starting with the move tomorrow. Another problem is that I still don't have SSH access the wiki VMs, which will make the wiki move and update tomorrow interesting[tm]. I don't care if I get openVPN access or some simple, old-style port forwardings on hydra, but I will need SSH access (or, if everything else fails, a good IRC-to-SSH relay ;-) to do the wiki move and upgrade. Needless to say that the deadline for both issues is in about 19 hours ;-) @Theo: Please coordinate with Max where he can/should put the database dump and tarball with uploaded files so that I can access it. (Last time, he uploaded them to the "old" test-wiki VM - that's still an option if you make sure that I can access that VM.) Hello, I tried to add an update to the "planet.opensuse.org moving home" incident on status.o.o - and earned an error 500 :-( Lars, you probably have the best Cachet knownledge - can you please have a look at it? Reproducer: - login on status.o.o - go to "Incidents" - click "Update" for "planet.o.o moving home" - select "fixed" and type a message - click "Update" - see error 500 The log says: [2017-07-07 21:33:48] production.CRITICAL: Symfony\Component\Debug\Exception\FatalThrowableError: Type error: Argument 1 passed to CachetHQ\Cachet\Notifications\IncidentUpdate\IncidentUpdatedNotification::__construct() must be an instance of CachetHQ\Cachet\Models\IncidentUpdate, instance of CachetHQ\Cachet\Models\Incident given, called in /usr/share/Cachet/app/Bus/Handlers/Events/IncidentUpdate/SendIncidentUpdateEmailNotificationHandler.php on line 77 in /usr/share/Cachet/app/Notifications/IncidentUpdate/IncidentUpdatedNotification.php:46 I wouldn't be surprised if this is a bug in Cachet... The funny thing is that the mail notification was sent out - but the update wasn't saved in Cachet, so the incident is still open. In case you need it: This error can be identified by f7d013c9-8ce6-4571-aabe-b9f4a704af86.
