[opensuse-gnome] Banshee & default radios
Hi all, I'm not sure if people are aware but Banshee 2.2.0 reads %{_datadir}/banshee/stations for XSPF files to load default radio stations. Ok I failed because I havne't checked if any is provided by default, but... ... if Marketing, or any other is interested ... either to promote media partners or any other reason and if there's no legal issues, we can for sure provide a few open source friendly radio stations, maybe get them upstreamed as well for default installs... So if anyone has cool ideas to use this cool feature in favor of openSUSE, I'm all in favor or using it... It does? I created this directory and put a valid (as in it used to work with 1.2.1[1]) XSPF file there but Banshee doesn't show the stations it provides. Hi James,
I haven't tested this extension in particular. I tried to test it with
a .xspf file I downloaded from BBC, but it didn't worked out for me,
it doesn't even get listed. I'm going to look and see what's going
on. I'll let you know soon.
I brought this up because from the packaging point of view, we're not
using this feature for default installs and maybe someone might have a
suggestion.
I'll check whats happening,
NM

I feel we should simply put some cool radios, but it's something that we'd need to keep remembering to update in the long term. If anyone wants to step up, let's do it! Many moons ago, the Banshee people requested a list of radio stations to include by default - so there is precedent for this. I'm all for it (or some cool podcasts). I'll compile them and add them on a test release. There seems to be a
tiny issue with that functionality, I'm waiting to check if I get any
developments from upstream.
