[opensuse-gnome] bnc#676360 - could use some help
Hi, I was looking at that bug report from Vincent, and I came up with a patch (see attach) or susepaste[1]. This patch doesn't really solve all the issues and was inspired in some modifications I had to do on GDM for Unity. But I have a few doubts: 1. We want a compiz session for compiz, that''s easy enought... Compiz should provide the window-manager functions and decorator; 2. We want nautilus running just like it happened in GNOME2 ? 3. We don't really have panel's now, should something else be loaded instead? What? I know the patch isn't really the solution but it's a start, please point me in the right direction, I can probably fix this one out myself. Nelson [1] - http://susepaste.org/84673232

I suggest simply taking the gnome-fallback session (see [1]) and replace metacity with compiz, and on top of that add: IsRunnableHelper=/path/to/some/helper FallbackSession=gnome-fallback Where /path/to/some/helper is a program that returns 0 if compiz can run and something else if it can't.
