[opensuse-gnome] Quick status update
Hi all, Here's a very brief update of how things are :-) - GNOME 3.1.91 is in GNOME:Factory (except for gnome-user-docs, but that's a detail; and upstream tarballs that are late) - a lot of build issues that were in G:F/G:A are solved; but we still have a few of them in G:A (help welcome!). They're mostly related to missing libraries when linking. - I'm pushing G:A and G:F to Factory right now. The only things I'm not pushing are gdm and gnome-shell (as well as mutter) as I know of at least one blocker in gdm, and gnome-shell requires the new gdm (and might have issues too, according to a bug report and some comments on irc). I've decided to push now for several reasons: a) we've accumulated 2-3 weeks of changes, so it's time to push b) if we don't push now, it will be after the conference, which is really late c) I would have preferred to fix gdm & gnome-shell first, but I'm short in time before the conference, and I've been debugging this for too long already :/ This means we will have most of 3.1.91 in Factory soon, hopefully, and this should mostly work fine. I found the issues, so I'll push those two to Factory. Stephen: I'm unsure if that will fix your issues. You need a new gnome-session and a new gnome-keyring-pam, with a change entry from today, to have my two fixes. Tell me if you still have issues. I'm still having issues. When I updated the kernel and didn't have the nvidia drivers running gdm came up and gnome launched in fallback mode. It seems like its the new gdm shell stuff that still crashes on me. I get fallback mode because the jobermayr nouveau driver hasn't caught up with the 3.1.0-rc5 kernel. Epiphany still fails like this: (epiphany:4789): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance (epiphany:4789): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed Mike -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Ok, with an update and reverting back from the nvidia beta (285.03) driver to the latest stable (280.13) gdm shell now works. I still have to unlock the keyring even with autologin disabled.
