[opensuse-gnome] There´s no way to apply wireless connection to all users via networkmanager applet
Hi. I´m wondering why applying wireless to all user doesn´t work. When i check option "Available to all users" and then "Apply" button in NetworkManager applet, nothing happens. Why? I tried it in Ubuntu 9.04 and it worked for me. After clicking on the "Apply" button, nm asked the root password and then it worked. Just to be sure, attached screenshot what i mean. Thanks. -- S pozdravom / Best regards, Rasto

Possibly because nm-applet in general fails to grant authorisation as in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=525305 -- Atri -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Or more precisely, as the referenced bug states, because PolicyKit "in general fails to grant authorisation". Tambet -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Well, actually, as verified in the bug, the issue only occurs with nm-applet ;-) (there was another issue on top before, but it's fixed now) Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

What was the fix? The one that Michael Meeks discovered and fixed a week or two ago? The Gtk button click signal emission changes? https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file?file=PolicyKit-gnome-unbreak-button.diff&package=PolicyKit-gnome&project=Moblin%3AFactory Tambet -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Ah, for gnome-power-preferences, the fix was to make sure everything PolicyKit1-related was installed :-) But indeed, this fix for old PK might be interesting and could solve the issue with NM. I'll test. Vincent -- Les gens heureux ne sont pas pressés. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

I took the patch used in Fedora, and it fixes the issue: http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/devel/PolicyKit-gnome/PolicyKit-gnome-0.... Tambet, maybe make sure Moblin uses this one too?
