[opensuse-gnome] Polari for default!

I've been using Polari since it was released a while back and still use it. I think we should replace Xchat with Polari as default. It's prettier, simpler, and more in line with the GNOME design philosophy. [opensuse-gnome] Gnome-music as the default music player instead of rhythmbox

Hi! We plan to replace rhythmbox from the default GNOME pattern (meaning it goes from the LiveCD and default GNOME installation from the DVD) by gnome-music. The latter is a core GNOME3 application now, it works well and fits in better within the GNOME3 desktop (granted, this is a subjective claim) and there is little benefit of having two music players + totem (which can also play all music files) in the default GNOME set up. Rhythmbox will still remain in the default oss repository for anyone who is dissatisfied with gnome-music and wishes to use rhythmbox instead. Gnome-music will also replace rhythmbox in the favourite-applications bar. If there is strong objection to this change, please let us know now. [opensuse-gnome] GNOME Summit - Cambridge, MA - October 11-13

Hi openSUSE folks, The GNOME Summit this year will be taking place next Saturday-Monday at MIT. The event is an unconference, and there will be both planning sessions and hacking time. Some topics already listed include: * Application development (Bundling, SDKs, builder, sandboxing, kdbus, ...) * Wayland (porting completion, future possibilities, ...) * Privacy * What makes a core application Richard Stallman will be there on Saturday to talk to the group. [opensuse-gnome] disable packagekit auto-download

There used to be a knob to disable automatic download of available updates. GNOME in Factory has appearently lost that knob. SLE12 has it in a prominent place. The help button of gpk-prefs still shows the pulldown menus which are not there anymore. So, how do I disable checking for updates and all that in Factory?
