[openFATE 306211] Make firewall status obvious for SMB browsing
Feature changed by: Stephan Kulow (coolo) Feature #306211, revision 5 Title: Make firewall status obvious for SMB browsing - openSUSE-11.2: Evaluation + openSUSE-11.2: Rejected by Stephan Kulow (coolo) + reject date: 2009-08-12 10:48:13 + reject reason: needs more research Priority Requester: Important Projectmanager: Desirable Requested by: Kirk Penrose (kpenrose) Description: Support receives many calls from people who can't browse their windows network due to the firewall being enabled by default. On the enterprise product we could probably provide a default exception for SMB but since we most likely need to have the default setup be the same for SLED and openSUSE then we need something obvious that the user will see. For example, a warning when they try to browse the network, or something on the desktop displaying the status of the firewall and indicating SMB traffic is blocked. Discussion: #1: Stephan Kulow (coolo) (2009-06-24 10:56:14) I think even Vista doesn't do a default exception, so it needs something more complex. Looking for volunteers. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/306211
