[New: openFATE 310770] web interface for rsyslog (LogAnalyzer)
Feature added by: Carlo Strata (carlo_strata) Feature #310770, revision 1 Title: web interface for rsyslog (LogAnalyzer) Buildservice: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Carlo Strata (carlo_strata) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Hi Everyone, as you can see on my bug-form request (particularly from comment 5 on) https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=590333#c5 I think that a web interface to rsyslog server may be very useful for all of us (SLES included!). I just only want to store newer names and web sites (I don't know how long redirect runs): - phpLogCon became LogAnalyzer - home page is now http://loganalyzer.adiscon.com/ - download page is now http://loganalyzer.adiscon.com/downloads - Documentation and license (GPLed open source) http://loganalyzer.adiscon.com/doc/manual.html Last release is LogAnalyzer v3.0.3, Friday, October 29th, 2010 What do you think? Thank you, Carlo p.s.1. I'm still not an OBS user, but I think someone interested like me in LogAnalyzer it is or will be. p.s.2. There exists another famous web interface for syslog server: - is for syslog-ng http://www.balabit.com/network-security/syslog-ng/ - its name is LogZilla (was php-syslog-ng) http://nms.gdd.net/index.php/LogZilla http://www.logzilla.info/ http://code.google.com/p/php-syslog-ng/ (No longer used) the code was GPL, BUT needs a license to be run (free only for small syslog traffic). So I don't suggest to adopt this. I surely prefer LogAnalyzer, GPL and free at all. Use Case: You could use it in your browser to control many devices (nework, industrial, ...)/computer/... activities and/or keep trace of (e.g.) login/logout, ... With this purpose for Windows Client I suggest to use simple, little, comprehensive and compliant 32/64 bit and support both old and newer Windows Event logs (Vista, 7, 2008, 2008-R2, ...). http://code.google.com/p/eventlog-to-syslog/ This program is written in C and provides a method of sending Windows Eventlog events to a syslog server. It works with the new Windows Events service found in Vista and Server 2008 and can be compiled for both 32 and 64-bit environments. Designed to keep up with very busy servers, it is fast, light, and efficient. The program is designed to run as a windows service. Business case (Partner benefit): openSUSE.org: Simply for a better syslog view and management (very important for SLES too). Take a look to his screen on demo http://loganalyzer-demo.adiscon.com/ -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/310770
