[opensuse-factory] The frog (kermit) seems to be gone?

I also sent an email to Columbia university to find out what the status of version 8.0.212 is.

Kermit, minicom and friends surplanted by the much nicer gtkterm unless you intend to run in VC mode. I've been using gtkterm years before it appeared in the distro and it's always done the business with no hassles. Recently a guy on the beagleboard list reported a problem with minicom on openSUSE, I suggested he tried gtkterm which I use, it worked. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... It shouldn't be a problem. All we have to do is do a osc sr for
openSUSE:Factory. We are too late for 11.2, but we could possibly make it
in contrib for 11.2. I really would rather have it available in factory.
I have been looking for a devel project to put it in. Have not really
found one yet. I would think it could go into the same devel progroject
as putty, and other terminal emulators.

I use it all the time. If no one else will step up. I will maintain it.
I have to use it with a few of my clients and their POS software. It
currently is the only means that their POS SW allows to work with their
accounting SW. My BS account is gerberb.

Boyd, Joop, whoever wants to maintain it, just copy openSUSE:Dropped/ckermit and submit to Factory. Or even better, find a suitable devel project to host the package, submit there and from there submit to Factory.
