[opensuse-factory] Installer and DEFAULT_WM
How is DEFAULT_WM being set during installation? Currently DEFAULT_WM is set to "gnome" when doing a default XFCE install. We have switched from xdm to the gdm login manager in the XFCE pattern, could this be the cause? -- Guido Berhoerster -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
Guido, I'd need to see the logs to find out what exactly happened during that phase of installation. Could you, please, create a bug and attach the installation logs? Switching the logon manager may have impact on package selection and in the end cause different default desktop, but I'd need to compare the logs with the code. Also, state which version you tested with. Jiri On Thursday 06 January 2011 01:59:24 Guido Berhoerster wrote:

Actually already I found out myself, desktop_finish.ycp determines DEFAULT_WM based on a single package, in this case xfce4-desktop, which we recently split up when moving from 4.6 to 4.8pre1. If the attached patch is fine could you please get this into Factory ASAP so that the XFCE install will work in M6? (Generally I think this is not a good way to determine the default desktop and it should at least honor rpm provides which we have correctly added to the xfdesktop package after splitting xfce4-desktop.) I'll create a bugreport and submit a fixed package containing the XML. - -- Lukas Ocilka, Appliances Department, Novell Inc. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.12 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iD8DBQFNJwYZVSqMdRCqTiwRAjz3AJ9mtG+9XH8gON4Cfz2CbXql51p0pQCgiS6c o/6PUHtw0FxeHlEBLO7eW6I= =a/kv -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
