[opensuse-factory] SR#149565: Revert libdvbpsi to 0.2.2
Hi Coolo, and list I just submitted SR#149565 to Factory, which reverts libdvbpsi from 1.0.0 back to 0.2.2... Rationale: - libdvbpsi 1.0.0 has a bunch of (not very trivial) API changes... - The most prominent consumer of libdvbpsi is the VideoLAN Project (vlc media player) - To my knowledge, this is rather 'the only consumer of the lib' - VLC (incl. git master) does not yet support this new libdvbpsi API - Nothing in the Factory tree uses libdvbpsi (It's there for convenience only) The proposal to revert to 0.2.2 (last release before 1.0.0) is to - Make my life as VLC maintainer easier :) - Make the life of any user trying to build other packages relying on libdvbpsi easier (if any such package even exists). Please consider this exceptional version change. Best regards, Dominique PS: I'm not aware of any specific guideline on how such a revert is to be done correctly... I now did osc sr -r <rev>; but that obviously removes the .changes entries as well.. Is this sufficient? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I agree with this proposal since the API change needs quite a lot of fixing/testing on VLC side this is not good for 12.3.
