[opensuse-factory] openSUSE KDE love/help - call for volunteers
Hello everybody, with the openSUSE Leap release and its ineritent KDE5 debut I decided to help and fix some of the bugs I am facing. While doing that I actually found out that at this point there are 756 assigned bugs to kde-maintainers@suse.de group. That is not possible to overwatch, track and manage at all. Because of that I would like to ask all of us KDE using/loving people if you could take look on this link [1] which contains all the bugs. Check the old ones that can simply be closed (ie reported to 12.1 or any other already not supported product) and close them with proper resolution (UPSTREAM/WORKSFORME/...). There are bugs like akonadi migration failed from 12.1 to 12.2 which we don't have to bother anymore. Or broken shutdown/reboot on 12.1, which nowdays work for everyone, at least I seriously hope it works for everyone :) If you happen to find a bug that is still relevant just update the distro status to Leap/Tumbleweed and keep going with another. I bet if all of us KDE using developers close 2-3 of those bugs we would easily kill most of this intimidating list and make it more manageable for our nice community maintainers. Cheers Tom [1] https://bugzilla.suse.com/buglist.cgi?bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=CONFIRMED&bug_status=IN_PROGRESS&bug_status=REOPENED&email1=kde-maintainers&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=substring&known_name=KDE&list_id=2649160&query_based_on=KDE&query_format=advanced
I started going through the Tumbleweed-subentity of your list. Overall if it is broken still in KF5/Plasma5 then it is still relevant. If it is KDE4 only then it is obsolete if reported for TW/Leap. HTH Tom

We are now at 547 bugs (there are some SLE specific ones so the number is bit higher than what you can see yourself). Thanks to all participating and keep up the awesome work. Closing 8 bugs a hour is quite feat. If you didn't help yet maybe try now, so for tomorrow we might get even better bugs/hour raito :P Tom

Another 24 hours passed. Now we are at 442 bugs. This means we killed more than 100 bugs as there are new opened for Leap. Thanks to all for the work so far and keep it up as we are just half way there. At least 200 more should be gutted O:-) Tom

Today it was bit disappointing ;-) We are now on 425 open bugs for the kde-maintainers group. It is obvious that on Sunday we all like to take bit of fresh air. For me I have to say we in Prague had splendid 18 C and sunny... That ain't exactly motivating to sit by computer. Lets see what we could manage tomorrow. Still at least 200 to close... Tom
