the first part is normal in xterm, the second part does not affect the software cursor.

Hello,

does the mouse actually disconnect (as you could see from messages in kernel or X11 log) or is the pointer just hidden (no cursor image) and happens to reappear (visible cursor image assigned) when you replug the mouse?  - Thanks Michal :
