[opensuse-factory] Queries about M6
Hi! I have a few queries about 11.2 M6. 1) Adobe reader is at version 8.1.5 still, despite adobe officially providing version 9.1.2 with significant startup time improvement. Also bnc:- https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=528456 2)There is this feature request I made for 11.2, and has been marked as candidate. It deals with improvements to the main-menu in Gnome https://features.opensuse.org/306895 Despite the patch being available, even M6 has missed out on it. I hope these will be included for M7, but I am somewhat afraid that it is too late already for getting new packages and features in. Are these enhancements already dead for 11.2 then? It's not too unlikely that we might push this even as update once adobe kills security updates for 8 - but so far noone did a submitrequest for the version update.

Thanks a lot for your replies, very happy to learn all of that, and thanks again to Dominique for taking up the sr for adobe 9.1.2. Also in the same feature request (fate 306895), Vincent Untz notes "we just need help from people". I would like to help; if there is some pointer to what must be done, I would like to know very much. Thanks. Hi everybody! It's been a few days and there I am again. Back with some good news and a request for YOUR help. I created new packages containing Adobe Reader 9.1.3 (latest as of at this moment) and also packaged up the language packages (9.1, latest release). I tested the Adobe Reader myself and it appears to be working. But of course I can only test a limited subset (and not the language packs for example). So you all are invited to test the packages and give some feedback. If everything goes well i'm planning on creating submit requests to have those packages accepted in the NonFree repository. The repository with the latest version can be found (temporary) at: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/dimstar:/branches:/home:/hen... Temporary just because once they are accepted for inclusion this repo will disappear again. Thanks for all your help! Just a guess but have you tried "/usr/bin/update-mime-database "%{_datadir}/mime" >/dev/null" Regards Dave P -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Err.. why would the mime-database have anything to do with the launcher menu? I was more thinking to find the right macro to update icon caches. I think that would be more the approach needed. This comment was for the "common tasks" in the control center.
