[opensuse-factory] Rolling factory distro?
Could someone explain package flow from base repo into factory? Let's say, package was updated in ... Base:System. When will updated package appear in Factory? Only during the next Milestone release? Is there something like "rolling factory" which includes all the latest package versions? If yes, where is the repo for it? And Wiki page of course ... Updates appear in factory after the SR has been reviewed. This review includes some automated checks, legal review and possibly code review. The more central the part, the more cautious are the factory people. So it's already "rolling". - -- Ralf Lang Linux Consultant / Developer Tel.: +49-170-6381563 Mail: lang@b1-systems.de B1 Systems GmbH Osterfeldstraße 7 / 85088 Vohburg / http://www.b1-systems.de GF: Ralph Dehner / Unternehmenssitz: Vohburg / AG: Ingolstadt,HRB 3537 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with undefined - http://www.enigmail.net/ iEYEARECAAYFAlDryYAACgkQCs1dsHJ/X7A3tgCgz9n7YPZDZUNS8+wFNJhogjAm n9AAoJJ9sBEa+0STdUffQFngVcvb4PiJ =xv3r -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

So "accepted" does not yet mean "reviewed"? OK, I branched package, modified, submitted request. Request has been accepted (and I can verify that when I branch the package again I see my changes). But I do not see updated package in repo /factory/repo/oss. Hence my question - is there additional step for packages to be pushed from their development projects into Factory? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAlDry30ACgkQR6LMutpd94zu/ACffj0ljK0brVb0KfkqcxCSVazU dpsAn0TBwOwxynEIPNDZORdKNrw+ntcw =g3Ro -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Yes. The maintainer of the Devel-Repo has to submit the package to factory. Direct submissions from home or branch repos won't be accepted. The maintainer can click a "forward" hook when accepting your request to automatically create a new SR for factory. - -- Ralf Lang Linux Consultant / Developer Tel.: +49-170-6381563 Mail: lang@b1-systems.de B1 Systems GmbH Osterfeldstra?e 7 / 85088 Vohburg / http://www.b1-systems.de GF: Ralph Dehner / Unternehmenssitz: Vohburg / AG: Ingolstadt,HRB 3537 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with undefined - http://www.enigmail.net/ iEYEARECAAYFAlDrzIUACgkQCs1dsHJ/X7BvsQCg7bgDTVLGtleG6TUUbMQi0c3q /RsAnRmpHjvJEd5St4in30D2ll94dJt3 =iXXf -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

The work flow is changed -> SR Base:System -> new -> accepted there -> SR openSUSE:Factory -> review -> new -> accepted there After that the whole distribution has to finish building before a new FTP tree is uploaded, which can take up to 12 hours depending on how many other packages are checked in at the same time and how long they take to build.
