Hello! It seems to be your network and/or dns problem. I'm doubt network because of how well everything else works. DNS I highly suspect, but only from mirrorbrain-provided URLs on machines trying to reach download.opensuse.org (only on IPV4) during the past month or so. The rest of the Internet seems totally normal.

My digs on this and TW machine don't appear to differ from yours. I am roughly halfway around the world from you with at least one ocean in between. I more suspect a more general, and maybe transient, I/O problem, or a change in /etc/zypp/zypp.conf or zypp*/libzypp* binaries (zypp.conf last changed via rpm 21 June), or curl, with a network error handling regression (maybe even an old bug that just was never noticed....). (last rotated 11 May) /var/log/zypper.log: 15432K bytes 109671 lines, none of which created before today 39 lines with string "Download (curl) error" Why is this log so voluminous? Apparently, logrotate ignores this file by default: /var/log/zypp/history: 5603322 bytes 59390 lines 1434 lines beginning with string 2016-08-01 oldest lines begin with string 2012-10-26 Does anyone besides myself set min.min_download_speed in zypp.conf (which has no man page, and no example among its comments)? I got so frustrated with being assign slowest possible mirrors providing largest rpms (POTS speed or worse, for oxyge*-icon-theme-scalable ~234M or similar) that I set it last year or earlier to 10000. Earlier this year I doubled it to 20000 on some installations, including the instant TW. For now, I've set download.max_silent_tries to 8 on that host to see if next time it can complete an up without waiting on a babysitter to keep telling it to continue at each error. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
