This release also removed powersave command.
I'm using this all the time. Will there be an alternative command?
I don't have such plans. But it'd be suitable to move it to the separate package (like powersave-legacy), which will be maintained by someone else. I offer a help with a packaging. BTW: in this case those two lines echo -e "ATTENTION:\tThis is a legacy tool to provide basic functionality of the obsolete" echo -e "\t\tpowersave daemon. It will vanish in future." should be removed from script ;-) Best regards Michal Vyskocil

Are pm-hibernate & pm-suspend the preferred commands from CLI? Rob -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Yes, they're - in fact I'm sure that HAL uses it too, because it is from freedesktop - so those scripts are available in all other distributions. There's only one big difference - /usr/sbin/pm-{hibernate,suspend} needs to be run as root, the powersave script calls HAL through D-BUS, so it can be used from regular user. But with deprecating of HAL I'm not sure how it will work in future. Regards Michal Vyskocil
