[opensuse-factory] boot.msg error
Hey Group; What is message telling me? I compiled a SuSE based kernel source. I only changed the CPU and kernel name so not to over write SuSE -1-default. Question is why is it not found because it is there. -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email:" n5xwb@comcast.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Gizmo: bmw_87kbike / via Skype: n5xwbg BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316

[..] Inspecting /boot/System.map-2.6.31-rc4 Cannot find map file. No module symbols loaded - kernel modules not enabled.
You have neglected to copy the System.map (from the root of the build-dir) of your kernel to /boot/System.map-2.6.31-rc4. I use a script called CP_26 ================================ #!/bin/sh cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/$1;cp System.map /boot/System.map-$1 rm /boot/System.map;ln -s /boot/System.map-$1 /boot/System.map cp .config /boot/config-$1 vi /boot/grub/menu.lst ================================ "CP_26 2.6.31-rc4" executed in the kernel source directory takes care of all of that.
