Last night I was installing 10.1beta9 under VMware, and I had to leave the room on the "Language" screen. When I came back, I noticed that it coninuously polls for something on the CD. Unfortunately VMWare doesn't allow me to Ctrl+Alt+F1 on the guest OS, so I could not check for logs or abnormal activity. I saw this with SLES 10 beta8, with VMWare and real hardware - filed bug 156774 (not public). Andreas (AJ) closed it because he couldn't dupe it. You may want to open a new bug under Suse Linux 10.1. Any comments, AJ? You can change VMWare's settings so you can use CTRL-ALT-F[x]. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Hot Keys, and change it there. Thanks, Chad

It's now public under SL 10.1: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=156774 I hope they let you guys take a relaxing vacation after each release... and increase your budget to hire some help. You guys must put in some serious overtime to make the releases the high quality they are. I'm looking forward to the release. -Chad

To use Ctrl+Alt+F1 in VMWare, you have to do it like this: Press Ctrl+Alt+Space, release Space and keep Ctrl+Alt down, now press F1.
