[opensuse-factory] Who do I ask to restart a package stuck in "signing"?
As people have noticed, the openSUSE:Tumbleweed 32bit repo has been stuck for the past few days due to one package (knsnapshot) failed the "signing" step due to the build machine running out of disk space: https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor?project=openSUSE%3ATumbleweed Who do I ask to restart this package to get it out of this state so that the build completes properly? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Just send a mail to opensuse-buildservice. I've restarted the broken jobs. What happens is that the signer refuses to sign rpms that have a checksum error. Checksum errors can happen if a worker runs out of IO space. (We really should improve the warden process to detect this error and auto-restart such jobs) -- Michael Schroeder mls@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF Jeff Hawn, HRB 16746 AG Nuernberg main(_){while(_=~getchar())putchar(~_-1/(~(_|32)/13*2-11)*13);} -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks for doing this, subscribing to yet-another-mailing list isn't always the best solution :)

How can a worker run out of IO space sometimes, but not others? Isn't it a fixed amount of space that each is allocated for a build? thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

No, AFAIK they offer different amounts of disk space. And memory is different as well... (That's also why we need to offer a mechanism to tell the dispatcher "this job will need at least that amount of disk space". Not implemented yet, alas...) I thought this is what "needed_space_in_mb" file is for. Is it ignored by the BS currently? regards, - -- js suse labs -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJPlZpQAAoJEL0lsQQGtHBJeo8P/iIAq9XtngqHVQgP4S5ob/iT jb3o0uLJDuM+z2mGPtQq7r4dAMrWDs2nYLX93QnpxQmXff7GqmThpkgpIJrbjc7A Lis2/rXlr0eXtlWyFtl3+U1IpXuXUDkW2GwkJ78YE5w8cWpACmdzXyAee063TNNr ML0h96MeNsENBECbTdPuZ5cxVp+s07j5ru60VYpL2g2REaKcsmOeKzHdK5zru8mq 1C3iiiTnm98Vd0iW22/ggHq6JdayO4jWVX0uJBoUimGBVwV3/4C2lNQqG30fT1DQ nkUCI97Q2Ri+eMeh1UN/Fot9JVJHfb2f06ZMoUdMyehuBPUCnXijDEpem7oU6CSc rCZmFPToxB6nCKCz0BdU6ffg6v1Xjzqqb+n6yXT5QtyIUZZ8XOYTlwoHJkwBqg3M dPZ47KFnhQq8k+RQqvBR0NJ//XBRBAE0QxHBQaZ0Gw6QMQEkcPY12SvLo37c1y60 0RQlHmgCXrpal6ZkZ/IKQWXICPP0JrKHvsrGbMGevzFeFdZdIaswTg6mvr1LlVqb oowY5Ig2qVT6MP2m7RZTC73xqJod188lNJvYBsRP11UfJEUU/GFm8C9XX4BQo87e Px2f6MNseJ/tC1MDXBm0VtD9yfTneg6mc607kyozCj8QNdZXvbUDd5pU99zjXc4J ekAkb0+rjoSx5VNtLM89 =EL8m -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
