[opensuse-factory] After update from 11.0 to 11.1Beta4 no wireless anymore...
Hi, Just updated my Armada E500 to 11.1B4, wireless. After rebooting, there was no configuration found for wlan. Configuring via yast failed, too many fields empty, and there were two devices (same) one configured with dhcp, and one not configured. The configured one did not contain data also. Why not read and use working devices? How can the network install cd from 11. find and configure my card without problems, but 11.1B4 can not? (Did a netinstall to 11.0 2 days ago, which setted up the wireless without any problem..) Searching for atheros gave nothing, pcmciautils was installed. -- Have a nice day;) Oddball, (M9.) I recogniced this too within an fresh b4kde live installation. I cant set the wireless options in Yast for ifup control. There is no step where I can make an entry for essd and security. With networkmanager it works. I use an atheros chip with ath5k.

Lucky bastard! :) unfortunately the nm finds no wavelan, due to the lack of configuration from wlan0..;(
I use an atheros chip with ath5k.
Me too, and it allways worked from 10.0, after the wireless driver update from opensuse. It will be fixed, i am sure. i like ifup the most, because it justs works, without any hassle, usualy..

I'm not, because yast says when I select nw-way, that there are missing packages nm-applet (from gnome). Maybe im lucky becaus of the knetworkmanager from live cd.
can this anyone verify with another wlanchip that ifup doesn't works?
