[opensuse-factory] Mirrors dropping Factory ? feature to have more mirrors ?
Dear users, watch, readers. I've found that one of my favorite mirror, allowing rsync which is great for my local infra. Has totally drop openSUSE_Factory or factory related things. If I really can understand why download.o.o/repositories/home: is not synchronize I would be happy to see more mirrors for openSUSE_Factory. The missing mirror where openSUSE doesn't have so much place (compared to D & U) mirrors.switch.ch The mirror that has loose Factory things ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/opensuse/repositories/ And you around the world, did you have trouble ? How can we push mirrors to (re)adopt our beloved Geeko ? Admin, board, can we have numbers ? place/bandwidth needed by mirrors Where should we store that informations (if it doesn't exist) ps : reply only to ml, I'm already subscribed like you. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

The halifax mirror admin has his own numbers and the build service repos create more input traffic than output, so it's not worth it. Factory repos change too often, so it's not so interesting to mirror admins. is it of any use to have low bandwith mirror? I have got a new server with 100Mb symetric bandwith and 1TB hard drive that will have a nearly zero load, could it be usefull to setup a mirror there? jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://pizzanetti.fr -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I can't judge really. It highly depends on your bandwith to rsync.opensuse.org Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Ok I will not double the effort if jdd can sync but I've a 1Gbps symetric to internet on my server. Now Stephan, can we have the number of place used to sync it with one number for whole stack and how much is download.opensuse.org/ /repositoires /repositories:/home I've an estimation, but concrete numbers would be nice. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

The question is: how many FACTORY users are out there. If the number of users is not some orders bigger than the number of mirrors, mirroring does not make too much sense, the users can instead simply download off the opensuse servers ;-) -- Stefan Seyfried "Dispatch war rocket Ajax to bring back his body!" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

This is not about factory repos, but about home:coolo/openSUSE_Factory - I don't think there are many users of that repo. And while there are surely not many for my other home project's repos, the factory one changes often on top of that. ps : reply only to ml, I'm already subscribed like you. My favourite mirror, which isn't (well it wasn't last time I checked) ftp.is.co.za still has factory both oss and noss.

Indeed aachen is limiting it's suse mirroring. Couple of weeks ago i found out that they quit mirroring the OBS-home directories. That very annoying, as aachen is one of the very few that provides neerly unlimited bandwith. i normally gets 100Mbps, so now i had to revert back to gwdg, offering just 16Mbps hw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
