[opensuse-factory] zypper 0.10
Anyone has some success using zypper 0.10 to update the rest of the system? I have updated manually libzypp, zypper and yast2-core, yast2-qt, and other yast2 stuff related to updating. The idea was to obtain a working update stack. But the sw_single module doesn't do anything else besides loading the repositories and exiting nicely afterwards. "zypper update" says there's nothing to do. I did a clean & refresh beforehand. silviu:/home/silviu_marin-caea/Documents/download # zypper clean --all All repositories have been cleaned up. silviu:/home/silviu_marin-caea/Documents/download # zypper refresh Refreshing 'openSUSE-extra-FTP 11.0' Refreshing 'openSUSE-FACTORY 11.0' All repositories have been refreshed. silviu:/home/silviu_marin-caea/Documents/download # zypper list-updates Reading installed packages... No updates found. silviu:/home/silviu_marin-caea/Documents/download # zypper update Reading installed packages... Nothing to do. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

zypper update always was only updating patches... nothing new for zypper 0.10. what you wanted to test is probably zypper dup or zypper update -t package Dominique --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Ok, sorry, I don't do this usually with zypper, I use yast2 sw_single. Since that didn't work, I took a quick look in the man page of zypper.. too quick. Thanks --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
hi!
I noticed that updating using the new zypper (0.10) shows wrongly the
addicional size.

Probably not worth a bug report... I manually installed the following from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/zypp:/svn/openSUSE_Factory/ libzypp-4.2.9-1.1.x86_64.rpm satsolver-tools-0.0.19-2.1.x86_64.rpm zypper-0.10.0-2.7.x86_64.rpm After which I couple run "zypper dup" to complete my update to current factory. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

A known bug. The fix for that is available since last week but it hasn't been added to factory yet. Please be patient for a few more days, hopefully checkins will proceed this week.

Yes, patches are not properly supported in 0.10 so far. Try 'zypper up -t package' or 'zypper dup' HTH Stano --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
