What is the correct procedure if a bug is posted into bugzilla? I put in a bug and after a while it will be assigned. What must be done if you see that nothing is happening? e.g. 144614, 144620, 144616 and 144615 are open for a while. I don't want to nag in bugzilla and don't want to flood the people that are assigned to it wasting time with answeringmy stupid mails while they work on something more important. So what is the procedure, or should I just sit tight and hope for the best? houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Three of those four are enhancements and some engineers are not really looking into those right now - and instead try to get the "real" bugs fixed first.
I don't want to nag in bugzilla and don't want to flood the people that are assigned to it wasting time with answeringmy stupid mails while they work on something more important.

In those cases I would just wait, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Just in those cases or always? houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Leben ist aber mehr als Werk und Arbeit, und das Sein wichtiger als das Tun - Johannes Müller-Elmau

The suggested response is sending in a patch if the developer has obviously no time to look at this bug. The only reason to bugzilla ping is if you feel that the bug is more severe than classified. Then it's legitime to question it's normal/minor state - but if the developer confirmed that the problem is indeed not severe, then you should be fine with that (as said: unless you send in a patch). The only reaction you ask for with bugzilla pinging is a RESOLVED/LATER. Your choice if you want that. Greetings, Stephan

Ok, thanks for the feedback. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Leben ist aber mehr als Werk und Arbeit, und das Sein wichtiger als das Tun - Johannes Müller-Elmau
