I can only say that openSUSE mailing lists make this hard, because * "reply" causes last sender to be in "To:" * "reply all" causes last send to be in "To:" and list address to be in "Cc:" That IS stupid and makes life harder, but it's probably no without a reason. I don't remember who, but I asked someone from here and he (or she?) told me that there were some reasons to make it do so. My workaround is to use "reply all" and then move list's address from "Cc" to "To", removing last sender's address. - -- Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek http://blog.jakubrusinek.pl/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkkWGaAACgkQcLqbpHzJqIVlXACgppSL8s3ZRRAS+U67l9wgNta4 q9EAoKmk86cvSsEZpEuzM3bpcJY9vPtN =GuJ0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I suppose that a problem is in your e-mail client, which expects the Reply-To only. But this and many other lists use a List-Post field in header. For example KMail (and maybe Evolution, or mutt) works well with this mailing list - Reply add an opensuse-factory to field To: and Reply To All add a last person to CC:. There's an extension for Thunderbird [1], which adds a support for List-Post. I'm not sure, what this User Agent means: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl; rv:1.9.1b2pre) Gecko/20081108 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0b1pre but it should help. I used this extension and it caused a big problems when loading email with attachments causing the load to take a loooooooog time. Ken - Many thanks. I also found that this extension made things grindingly slow when opening or previewing mails with large attachments - to the extent that I had to un-install it. Your (OK, Dave Howorth's) tweak achieves pretty much the same goal with much less fuss. You know that this happens only due to a strange "philosophy" (yes, he thinks it is of this value - probably he needs this feeling) of our list moderator? Which would be me. And what you say is not true. We voted and a big majority wanted it this way. So dont blame this on me. Henne p.s. Although you can share-blame it on me. It seems you still didn't understand the problem. Let me translate to you, when Detlef says "it's a great bug-report!" what he is trying to say is: "I will need more info to fix that problem. I don't think I need to explain you which info since it is just a copy&paste of the error message the app (zypper/yast) gave you (the same thing you must give in 99% of problem reports). Please, answer with that info". But what you did? At this point you forget about your problem with MPlayer, and instead of giving a good bug report like asked you just give a personal attack. Should we suppose that you solved your problem? Your answer does exactly what Eric S. Raymond explains you must not do in "On Not Reacting Like A Loser" from "How To Ask Questions The Smart Way" -> http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#not_losing I can assure you that no one in this list is interested in knowing your personal opinions on Detlef (not even Detlef), so avoid them. If you are going to answer to this answer with the needed info to fix a bug no one is going to investigate since at this point we are all thinking that the problem is with you and no in the MPlayer package. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

[snip] The problem wasn't mine, it was that in the CD live install, the packman repository WASN'T listed...I looked but couldn't find it on the Net. Trying to install mplayer from packman had dependencies that wouldn't resolve because Yast couldn't find the files needed. The error is in the packaging for the CD live isos. Basil is the one who told me that there was a packman repository, although he didn't give me the address. When I did my "daily" update today, I had over 900 files...mostly from the repro site INCLUDING an update for the community repros....packman is now available. Now, look at his response from my position, and you'll see it as a smart ass response.
