Problems with acpi, cpufreq and Atheros wifi with RC1 on a ThinkPad T42
Having problems with ACPI and ath_pci.ko modules on openSUSE 10.1 RC1
System: IBM Thinkpad T42, Pentium M 1.6GHz, Atheros wi-fi a/b/g ..
klausk:~ # modprobe -v acpi
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.16-20-default/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq
(/lib/modules/2.6.16-20-default/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko):
No such device
klausk:~ #
Also, cannot find any ath_pci or equivalent driver for my Atheros
internal wlan. Installed madwifi & wlan-kmp-default packages, but
could not find the kernel modules there either.
Both acpi/cpufreq and ath_pci *are* working in my SuSE Pro 10.0
install. Did a clean network install for openSUSE 10.1 RC1, in another
partition.
Any thoughts before filing a new bug?
Thanks,
Klaus

The releasenotes say, that madwifi is included without atheros support.

In 10.0 he module was included in the kernel-nongpl package.
