New package: kubo
Hi fellow Geekos, I'm submitting kubo (formerly go-ipfs) to Factory: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/1099919 This allows to access the InterPlanetary FileSystem (IPFS) either as fixed immuntable content like /ipfs/bafybeigjlurskpf5c5rguw5ywynx4pzzhehjipw7stgvl2gqi4ykxrfdji or via dynamic references to the above, e.g. as ipfs ls /ipns/opensuse.zq1.de/ also available as FUSE mount via ipfs mount https://github.com/ipfs/kubo/blob/master/docs/fuse.md Below the surface it uses a DHT to locate chunks identified by their hash and like bittorrent it re-shares downloaded chunks, which can help distributing files to a large userbase. Ciao Bernhard M.
Thank you very much! It was the only project keeping me from removing the filesystem devel repo from my machines. Cheers, Eyad I.
Thank you Bernhard, this is nice! On Sun, 2023-07-23 at 07:31 +0200, Bernhard M. Wiedemann via openSUSE Factory wrote:
