[opensuse-factory] second X session disappears from view
openSUSE Tumbleweed and 12.2ms2 current x86_64 starting a second X session works but if I leave that *screen* for a tty or the other X session, I cannot return. The session is still active but I cannot access it. as <user> (requires adding setuid to /usr/bin/Xorg) startx /usr/bin/openbox-kde -- :1 session starts in screen 8 work in session leave session to tty1-7 (any) return to tty8 provides an almost blank screen, contains only a non movable cursor and gpm block cursor. "startx" session is still active, ps aux | grep openbox has output, shows session. ??? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Wait, what? The two are totally incompatible, do NOT mix Tumbleweed with anything else, let alone Factory, that's just insane. You are on your own. greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

openSUSE Tumbleweed 12.2ms2 current x86_64
starting a second X session works but if I leave that *screen* for a tty or the other X session, I cannot return. The session is still active but I cannot access it.
as <user> (requires adding setuid to /usr/bin/Xorg) startx /usr/bin/openbox-kde -- :1
session starts in screen 8 work in session leave session to tty1-7 (any)
return to tty8 provides an almost blank screen, contains only a non movable cursor and gpm block cursor. "startx" session is still active, ps aux | grep openbox
has output, shows session.
Have this problem on three machines, 2 Tumbleweed and one Factory 12.2m2 -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I have also seen that in 12.1. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
