[opensuse-factory] packages for grabs
Hello,
the following packages are up for grabs. If you are interested in taking over
any of them, send me a maintainership request.
If no volunteers are found to take over any of them, I will request removal
from Factory in a month. Some of the packages below are quite popular (eg
password-store, hub, xxkb, xautolock, nmcli-dmenu) so it would be a shame to
see them removed from Factory.

the grc package implements the same functionality as these although potentially not as well / to the same level I haven't done a side by side comparison. It also works for osc build which is likely useful for a bunch of people on this list. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Hello,
the following packages are up for grabs. If you are interested in taking over any of them, send me a maintainership request.
devel:languages:ruby:extensions/rubygem-augeas
This one looks interesting, as YaST uses augeas from ruby, but in the end if it is just discontinued fork of rubygem-ruby-augeas. So fine for me to drop this package. Even its author switch its github repo to read-only mode. Josef -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I use password-store. If noone else steps up for it I'll file a request in 2 weeks. I don't think we are affected by boo#1097774. It's fixed in 1.7.3 (TW/Leap 15.0) and was not present in 1.6.5 (Leap 42.3). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

A maintainer was found yesterday, see [1], but I suppose more are always
welcome :) Thanks for volunteering!

All packages in the benchmark project can be considered matained, by group of people listed in the Users tab. I don't see why you want to remove 'forkbomb', it builds and is otherwise low effort maintenance. The maintainer/bugowner/... list is the same eg for clpeak package that's also in Factory but nobody is suggesting it for removal. So I don't uderstand the logic behind the decisions. I don't think there has to be a single person for each package, speaking for obs://benchmark, the group maintainership has been working well. The people behind are users of the packages so there's low risk. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you for your answer! I removed myself from the maintainers of the
forkbomb package

This does not make sense, none of devel:languages:ruby:extensions packages is in Factory, so what are you intending to remove? If this means the whole devel project then it makes even less sense so I think I must be missing something. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Yeah, most of them were in the past in Factory, but were removed when their
main consumer applications went away (eg puppet). So if any of the packages
that I listed is in Factory, I'll remove it and then remove myself from the
maintainers/bugowners list. I don't intend to remove any of them from their
devel projects though.
