I just submitted a newer version of the asio library (https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/553536). The only promise I give regarding this, is that it is based on more recent sources. Have fun! :-)

Have you submitted this to upstream? I don't see any reason they would not accept it unless you are unwilling to sign the contributor agreement.
