Hello List
- after the recent t'weed upgrades, Charts created and saved, disappear when spreadsheet is Closed, and then re-opened.
thanks
best regards Ellan
Presumably this included an update of LibreOffice 3.6.3? There is a bug in the openSUSE implementation of LO 3.6.3 in both openSUSE 12.2 and 12.3-M2 so I guess it may also have affected Tumbleweed. I hope you have backups of the affected sheets as I reckon they are permanently screwed. I have downloaded, installed on 12.2 and tested both 3.6.3 and 3.6.4 from the LibreOffice website and cannot reproduce the fault. -- Graham Davis, Bracknell, Berks. openSUSE 12.3-M1 (64-bit); KDE 4.9.3; AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor; Video: nVidia GeForce 210 (using nouveau driver); Sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA); Wireless: BCM4306 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I am running Tumbleweed and this version of LO-Calc: libreoffice-calc-3.6.3.2.3-3.4.i586 I have just tested this issue and I can't reproduce it. My charts don't disappear. Perhaps you're lucky but I wouldn't count your chickens before they're hatched; the graphs may vanish on your second access of them. Several people have been able to repeat this problem on openSUSE 12.2. I apologize for not including a reference to the bug report I have made; here it is now: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=794698 Perhaps this will clarify how the problem occurs - I hope. -- Graham Davis, Bracknell, Berks. openSUSE 12.3-M1 (64-bit); KDE 4.9.3; AMD Phenom II X2 550 Processor; Video: nVidia GeForce 210 (using nouveau driver); Sound: ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA); Wireless: BCM4306 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
It seems as if most parts of the openSuse build of LibreOffice
have trouble with embedded objects. ( see bug 791201 )
I have found that 3.6.3 in writer always destroys OLE charts
and Calc sometimes does. Even if your chart is there in Calc
if you resize it or move it a few times it will vanish and there is no way
to get it back. Even the Stable Libreoffice does it. Any 3.6.something
seems to be effected )
:-(
