[opensuse-factory] Kind request for help with the Leap 42.2 beta 2
I had a fail of boot after install. But the install process itself was perfect. I did then also a "check on install medium" that gave surprisingly: this ist not an opensuse Leap beta medium. I have the doubt that if you create a bootable usb stick, the "check install medium" might not work as expected (and instead search for a DVD on usb port) because of the usb-key not being expected. I tried on hub and directly attached. So now I have a chicken egg problem. I do not know if the check shows a faulty medium (then I have to redo the usb-key image) or if the check is faulty and then the report of the problem during install is..valid. Could somebody be so kind and run a test with a usb-key install on the install medium and report back here if this test is functional in beta2? This would be of great help. Just FYI, I also did a NET install from USB, worked just fine. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.5°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Test is not functional in beta2. Every Leap 42.2 USB-stick install medium tells "this is not an opensuse Leap beta medium". This is rather annoying. -- Viljo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Test of USB stick has *never* been functional. The feature should be simply disabled on USB installs. It is only valid on optical media. Instead, you have to test the checksum of the downloaded media in the hard disk before placing it on the stick. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

This looks to be true for openSUSE instal medias. I tested kubuntu-12.04-dvd-amd64.iso USB-stick. It tested every file and informed "Check finished: no errors found".
