[opensuse-factory] YaST FACTORY Update
Confusing as it says it can't update from an existing 10.3 to another, e.g trying to go from Alpha6 to Alpha7. Did a 10.2 YOU on another box, but it doesn't appear there as an option. What's it for, feature not yet working perhaps? Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... As of today GRUB can't read/boot the Linux kernel from a LVM volume. So if you use LVM you have no choice and have to use a separate /boot partition. Or when I use Xen I always set up a separate /boot partitions on all my domU without a journaling filesystem. Honestly, I don't know exactly 'why' IA64 recommends at lest 200 MB. Other system need just only 64 MB... But it's only a warning, you can skip it and continue upgrading. Anyway, you had better see the bugzilla bug #258563 (mentioned in the change-entry). Anyway, you had better see the bugzilla bug #258563 (mentioned in the change-entry). It isn't just the 100MB I am asking about. Even after reading the bug, I cannot understand why the need for 64MB (and apparently that applies even to an ext2 filesystem). With everything included, ie. the kernel, initrd, the system map, and grub, one kernel takes up 3.9MB on my system. What needs the remaining 60MB?

Thanks, on i586, those are the 2 I have seen dependency problems with, I shall try installing by hand and go on from there. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
