[opensuse-factory] Screen blanking
Hi all; For some reason my display is blanking after about 5 minutes even though the settings for "Power Management" and "Display & Monitor" are not set for that (see attachments) This occurred after installing VBox via Yast2 but before opening or running it. Yast2 said it was upgrading the kernel but the kernel version did not change in /boot. Where should I look for information regarding this screen blanking? It's most likely just the screensaver (the default screensaver is pure black iirc). Systemsettings -> Display -> Screensaver (or 'kcmshell4 screensaver') -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

If all else fails as it does for me in 11.3 then " xset -dpms" is the one that solved it for me .. in one of the X or kde startup scripts Pete . -- Powered by openSUSE 11.3 (x86_64) Kernel: 2.6.34.10-0.2-desktop KDE Development Platform: 4.6.5 (4.6.5) "release 7" 06:42 up 6 days 9:45, 5 users, load average: 0.07, 0.10, 0.09 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Pete .
The "xset -dpms" did the trick. Thanks Peter. And thanks to Patrick and Martin for your responses.
