[opensuse-factory] 11.2 repos vs. factory repos
Hi, Just a quick note to avoid more people confused: factory and 11.2 are two distinct projects since RC1 and as such you have to decide for yourself now if you want to stay with factory or switch to 11.2. If you have factory repos enabled, you will get factory, if you have RC1 installed, the repos registered will give you 11.2 (once RC2 is out). So far every package that goes into 11.2 goes into factory first, but still a lot things to into factory only. So if you have a problem with factory, chances are there it's factory only. Greetings, Stephan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I can report a smooth and successful 10.3 --> 11.2 RC1 (using DVD) --> factory and I have another 10.3 upgrade to do some time, perhaps after RC2 is out. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ... Coolo, could you tell us the exact names of the 11.2 repos for those that followed factory so far and like to move to 11.2 RC2? That would be: /distribution/11.2/repo/non-oss Check: http://widehat.opensuse.org/factory-snapshot/repo/ I think debug and sources are missing yet, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Program Manager openSUSE, aj@{novell.com,opensuse.org} Twitter: jaegerandi | Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

Did you happen to go to http://download.opensuse.org/distribution and see what was what? seems widehat.* is down at present, but distribution/11.2-RC1 is populated and up -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I tried yesterday but got error, no /content file. Just trying now after reading another post that the repos are up. It is doing a fresh now, but very slow. Hopefully that will get me to RC2 and then I can find and get back to KDE4.3.2. It was slow but its done and I now have RC2 I Think (8 2.6.31.5-0.1-default) and KDE 4.3.2. So far it looks good. Only problem I know I have is I still cannot in the driver from the Nvidia repo. I did install the lastest driver (NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-190.42) the hardway. seems to be work good. thanks for the information you provided. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I went looking around and found the factory-snapshot repos. http://download.opensuse.org/factory-snapshot/repo/[oss, non-oss] "zypper dup" on 2 x86_64 boxes and rebooted successfully # cat /etc/SuSE-release openSUSE 11.2 (x86_64) VERSION = 11.2 Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
