[opensuse-factory] If Fish kio still broken in kde43b1?
Devs, I had a kwrite file I needed to save to my server (nirvana), so In the location entry dialog I did what I always do and typed: fish://nirvana:/srv/www/download/ But, instead of getting my remote directory on nirvana to save the file in, I got a big red dialog telling me fish was broken. Screenshot: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/openSUSE_bugs/kde4/screenshots/fish- broken.jpeg I swear 2 months ago somebody told me that fish was fixed in kde4. What's the status? -- David C. No errors, no any messages. Progress bar in systray shows speed as "0". This is very randomly behaviour. I needed to stop transfer and start again. Some files (large .iso) needs 3 or 4 attempts to copy whole file. -- Pozdrawiam / Best regards, Mariusz Fik, openSUSE Community Member -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Fish in kde4 is still badly hosed. I opened a bug with kde: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195367 Neither Kate or Kwrite will connect across the LAN, but ... In konqueror, I can get fish across the LAN, but any fish across the internet dies after connection with the following error: <quote> The requested operation could not be completed Connection to Server Closed Unexpectedly Details of the Request: URL: fish://rbpllc.com:7381 **(Not the real port #)** Protocol: fish Date and Time: Friday 05 June 2009 12:45 Additional Information: rbpllc.com Description: Although a connection was established to rbpllc.com, the connection was closed at an unexpected point in the communication. Possible Causes: There may have been a problem with your network connection. There may have been a problem at some point along the network path between the server and this computer. A protocol error may have occurred, causing the server to close the connection as a response to the error. Possible Solutions: Try again, either now or at a later time. Contact the administrator of the server for further assistance. Contact your appropriate computer support system, whether the system administrator, or technical support group for further assistance. </quote> I have konqueror(kde3) open right next to it and it connects fine. Who knows what the problem is, but this is one that needs to be at the top of the list. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
