[opensuse-factory] 12.3 RC2 - a regression in one part?
I installed RC2 late yesterday (my Australian time) and only just had to chance to do some "playing around" with it. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known regression in 12.3? I always configure the system to have own set of widgets for each Desktop and then place all my apps I use daily in the launcher on the taskbar - and I sort them according to their importance to ME. KDE 4.10 in 12.2 respected this placement - but this was not so for a while until some "fix" was done for 12.2 (or KDE for 12.2). RC2 has regressed to what occurred before the fix in 12.2: the icons will NOT stay in their positions in the launcher - they move around on reboot. And yes, I do have the correct settings in Taskbar Manager Settings. Have I missed some new option which affects this (like I did with the new config option in Konsole) or is this a regression? No regression in RC2. I simply forgot that the Virtual Desktops are contained in their own "panel" and can be moved around; and you move this "panel" to be positioned AFTER all the icons you transfer to "the panel" (from the Applications lists in Kickoff), and then position the apps' icons in the launcher to your liking -- AND set the launcher parameter to position these icons MANUALLY and not alphabetically or by size or gender whatever. Bottom line is: all is well :-) .
