[opensuse-factory] OSS 10.3 Beta 1 Grub-issue
Hi all, just made an update from lpha 7 to Beta 1 via Yast Factory Update. Almost everything went well, except the automatic writing of a new menu.lst. At this system i have four systems at my harddisc: Win XP, Vista, Debian etch and openSUSE. All off them had their place in my old menu.lst. And why the heck now openSUSE kills the entry for debian, but not the entries for Windows? Some kind of fratricidal war out there? Or (hopefully) just an error? regards, Jens --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

Well, file a bug and attach yast logs to it? And no, we do not have a new policy to remove debian entries. Don't worry, it's nothing against Debian. My entry for openSUSE 10.2 got yanked as well. :-] On Sat, 11 Aug 2007, Stephan Kulow wrote:

I searched for ten minutes or so, and could not find a matching bug among the roughly 80 we have with grub in the summary, so I went ahead and filed a new one: #299614 /boot/grub/menu.lst loses entries on update If anyone has further details, please add them there! Wanted to file a bugreport by myself, but had to wait hours for the evaluation-number (because i forgot my password). So you were faster, thank you ;) regards, Jens --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
