[opensuse-factory] Linphone update for 12.2?
Hi, with the Linphone 3.4.3 in openSUSE 12.1 my webcam is not working. It is working with kopete (using uvcvideo). Therefore I checked the Linphone page and I found there exists already version 3.5.2. Release information does not mention an improvement related to cameras (maybe this is contained in the bug fixes), but some other interesting features were added like SRTP media encryption SIP/TCP and SIP/TLS network protocols ZRTP media encryption ... (conferencing, codecs, bug fixes) Currently factory still contains Linphone 3.4.3. Is there a possibility to get Linphone 3.5.2 into openSUSE 12.2, or is there a reason not to have it? Kind regards, Dieter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I also have some patches for pulseaudio support. I've been building a custom linphone with pulseaudio support since 11.3, and it works MUCH better than the alsa-only version when pulseaudio is being used. I'll try to integrate the latest factory version. Once that is done, who should I contact regarding integrating my changes (which are fairly minimal)? -- Jon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

I would love to see such a version. I can't use many soft-phones because most insist on using alsa only. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. You branch the latest factory version using 'osc branch ...' . The
branch is automatically done from the devel project if that was defined.
You then work on that branched package to integrate your changes. If the
package builds and works as it should, you do a service request to the
devel project. If has been accepted you do a sr to factory.
So in this case the steps would be:
osc branch network:telephony/linphone
osc co home:

Interesting John, A few days ago I looked at pulseaudio2 and built it. # rpm -q pulseaudio pulseaudio-2.98~dev~1~g8f540-50.x86_64 So far no problems with any of the apps I run. Why don't you try building it from source and checking if it fixes your trouble? If it does, it would be a strong motivation to update it in Factory. If not, you'll have to open a bug upstream I'd say. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
