[opensuse-factory] Beta Firefox and Thunderbird
I use beta versions of Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird on Windows, to help with testing etc. I would like to do the same on SuSE Tumbleweed. I cannot find any repos containing the rpms, so I downloaded the versions from the Mozilla web site. Beta Firefox installation was a breeze, and I am able to use it on Tumbleweed just fine with no issues (other than product issues since this is Beta, which are issues I am seeking anyways). Beta Thunderbird though shows no scroll bars at all nor scroll arrows in the scroll region of the window. This does not happen on Windows. I suspect this is a Tumbleweed/XFCE issue and not a Thunderbird issue, since I see many references to these types of issues on Linux distros. However, I not been able to find a fix. Would anyone know the fix or what direction I should be looking in? If your not using the default gnome3 (gtk) theme that could be the cause of the issues. The gnome devs broke theme compatibility again recently and it could be related to that. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adeliade Australia, UTC+9:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

I typically have 6 different SeaMonkey and Firefox versions open at once, and most of the time am not running the installed openSUSE version unless booted to TW.

People not using Gnome need to collectively jump en masse down the throats of those upstream responsible, the Gnome/GTK people. There are multiple open mozilla.org bugs as a result of mozilla.org building using the GTK3 toolkit instead of GTK2. Those I'm aware of include: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269145 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269149 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269274 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1260067 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1269172 Big trouble upcoming for non-Gnome users with hiDPI and not such good vision: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=757142 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367499 needs to be confirmed, as it's very real. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
