[opensuse-factory] SuSE's RPM of Open Office 2.2.

Yast installed them and they come up and exit correctly. However, they will not allow a all ready created document to be loaded. Furthermore, the "Open" fails to do anything. It will not even show a back arrow. I think permissions are set correctly. Misleading subject: tohse are the pre-2.3 version of OpenOffice, not the (stable) 2.2. If you need it for daily work, perhaps downgrading first might be in order? The packages should work. Well, the version 2.2.99.222 is relatively old and more buggy than the current one. Could you please tell me what distribution (10.3, 10.2, or...) you are using? Do you use i586 or x86_64 package? Does it happen with any document (.odt, .doc, .ods...) or with one particular? Anyway, as Michel Salim wrote. Anyway, as Michel Salim wrote. You might want to use the more stable package from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/OpenOffice.org:/STABLE/

I did get it to work by removing "ooqstart" which is called from /usr/bin/oofromtemplate. It is a 3 line script that calls ooqstart. ooqstart is a binary that must have something that is called in SuSE's Distro of ooo-2.# Anyway a fresh download and complete removal of SuSE's /usr/lib/ooo-2.0 (which included /usr/lib/ooo-2.0/program/ooqstart. Then installed Suns OO and it is working minus the menu that SuSE uses. This is the first time I have ever had SuSE's ooqstart fail. 73 de Donn Washburn Hpage: " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB Email: " n5xwb@hal-pc.org " 307 Savoy St. HAMs: " n5xwb@arrl.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 BMWMOA #: 4146 LL# 1.281.242.3256 " http://counter.li.org " #279316 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org

I am not sure if I understand you correctly. You should not combine the /usr/lib/ooo-2.0/program/ooqstart from the SUSE's package with the Sun's binaries. The Sun's binaries should install their own ooqstart themself. Well, If you really want to use the Sun's package, you might want to install the openoffice.org-suse-menus package from the desktop-integration subdirectory to get the Sun-package-related menu entries. -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: pmladek@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
