[opensuse-factory] Spectacle hotkeys
Nice to finally have the new spectacle. After ksnapshot was deleted I was anxious awaiting its replacement. Trying to start spectacle I found that the expected hotkey for spectacle is not activated. An oversight? Went to /usr/share/khotkeys and found the file spectacle.hotkeys with which I could not begin anything. Worth a bugreport? For the time being, could somebody help me with a working hotkey for spectacle? -- Linux User 183145 using KDE4 Tumbleweed on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 20160111 (x86_64) Kernel: 4.3.3-6-default KDE Development Platform: 4.14.15 08:57am up 0:17, 2 users, load average: 0.28, 0.72, 1.09 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

configure desktop --> shortcuts --> custom shortcuts --> screenshots just like you would for any other hotkey/shortcut -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks Patrick. Thought it was mentioned that spectacle would also use printscreen and I expected it to be automatically -- Linux User 183145 using KDE4 Tumbleweed on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 20160111 (x86_64) Kernel: 4.3.3-6-default KDE Development Platform: 4.14.15 13:41pm up 0:13, 2 users, load average: 6.03, 6.03, 3.48 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org

In theory, it should work, but it won't if you have local hotkeys modifications, IIRC.
When I am trying to set configure desktop -> shortcuts -> custom shortcuts -> screenshots it says, that "The shortcut 'Print' conflicts with the following key combination: Shortcut 'Print' in Application System Settings for action PrintScreen So it looks like there is some malfunction, because there is shortcut for printscreen in Application System Settings but it does nothing when Printscreen button is pressed. m. I just installed spectacle as well . Problem seem to be that in Systemsettings it still calls ksnapshot when the print screen key is pressed. I needed to replace ksnapshot with spectacle in System settings --> Shortcuts --> custom shortcuts --> Preset actions --> Print Screen --> Actions Tab This is translated from german settings so not sure if its completely accurate. be sure to you use systemsettings5 and not the one for kde4. I seems to have both of them still installed. -- Stefan Kunze SUSE Dispatch Engineer ________________________________________________________________ SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nürnberg
